Art Enrichment Program

Looking for Art Enrichment Classroom Volunteers!

The purpose of the Art Enrichment Program (AEP) is to encourage children in grades K-4 to expand their appreciation of the arts by exposing them to classical and modern art, sculpture and a variety of world cultures.

Each month, an art volunteer brings a different portfolio into the classroom. Portfolios are borrowed from the Arts Council in Plymouth and hold about six poster-size reproductions and folders. The folders include information about the artist(s) and each piece of work within the portfolio. This information is simply presented to students within the classroom.

No prior art knowledge is required because all necessary information is provided within each portfolio. This is a very rewarding program and the children eagerly look forward to the monthly visits. Please consider becoming an art volunteer for your child's classroom. Remember, just as every piece of art is different...so too is every art volunteer, bringing your unique experiences to the classroom.

An informational meeting will be held at the Plymouth Arts Council (774 N. Sheldon Road) on Monday, October 3rd at 9:00 a.m. and at the school on Wednesday, October 5th at 8:15 a.m. in the cafeteria. You may choose to attend either meeting based on the needs of your schedule.

Please email Cindy Rigoni at [email protected] by Thursday, September 29 if you are interested in donating your time once a month as an AEP classroom volunteer.
