Quiz Bowl is a team competition that tests knowledge of all academic disciplines.  Two teams of students compete against each other with a lockout buzzer system.  A moderator reads questions and students "buzz" in.  If they answer correctly, they earn points for their team.  Seventh and eighth grade students are eligible to participate. 

On Saturday, May 8th, All Saints entered two Quiz Bowl teams for a tournament at St. Michael’s in Livonia. There were several other schools present: St. Michael, St. Genevieve, OLV, St. Robert Bellarmine, and OLGC.

We are delighted that our Team 1 came in 1st Place.  Team 2 won all of their morning matches, but fell in the single elimination round. We are so proud of both teams. They did an outstanding job.

Team 1 was down by 60 points after the first round. We made up ground in the toss-up bonus round, but were still down by 30 points going into the lightning round. According to the rules, the lower score has first choice of the lightning round topics. Needless to say when one of the topics was mythology, their faces lit up. They got all 10 questions correct which afforded them a bonus of 20 points. The other team, OLGC, also did well in that round. They were close to getting the extra 20 points, but only had 9 of the 10 questions correct. The final round which is worth 15 points helped to solidify our teams win. We are so proud of them.
